1st Annual March Bow Madness Shootout!! What: This year we decided to host the 1st Annual MAD Sporting Goods March Bow Madness Shootout. This will be a bracket style shootout. Winners will advance to the next round and losers will be placed in a loser's bracket for a chance at a final prize. When: Tournament registration will be from 7 AM - 9 AM, Saturday March 13th. Shooting will start promptly at 9 AM. Final rounds will start at 12 PM on Sunday March 14th. Where: The March Bow Madness Shootout will be held at the indoor range of MAD Sporting Goods and Outdoors. For directions to our store, click here. Scoring: The format for the shootout will be 5 arrows at a NFAA 5 Spot target. The only modifications will be that the entire arrow must be in the ring for the highest score. As long as it doesn't protrude into the lowest score ring, the highest score will count. Only one arrow per target will be scored. If two arrows are in one target, the lowest score will be counted. The shootout will be configured like the NCAA March Tournament brackets. Each archer will register and receive a 'seeding' number. They will be placed in the main bracket. As they win their round, they will advance to the next one. The loser will be place in a 'Loser' bracket for the 5th and 6th place prize. Ties will be broken by counting the 'X's'. A second tie breaker will be a 3 arrow shootoff with a 30 second time limit. Rules: Due to inquiries about allowed equipment we have decided to post some requirements. In fairness and to keep the tournament open to virtually anyone, we will be modifying some of the equipment rules. Any type of compound, recurve or long bow is permitted Any type of sight is allowed No magnifiers or clarifiers allowed No limitations on rest or launcher styles No limitations on arrow sizes or weights No limitations on stabilizer lengths No speed or draw weight limitations
Prizes: Total value of prizes to be given out will exceed $2000.00. There will be 4 prizes given to the top finishers in the winner's bracket and 2 prizes for the winners of the loser's bracket. Also, there will be hourly drawings for door prizes while the tournament is taking place.
